Anahita Norouzi is an Iranian born, Montreal based artist. She received her B.F.A. in Graphic Design from Sooreh University of Tehran in 2007. Norouzi is currently completing a Masters of Fine Arts in Photography at Concordia University.
Norouzi’s practices adopt a range of diverse media, but primarily photography and video. She merges the images and voices of personal experiences with her socio-cultural reflections. In order to create a dialogue in a visual language, the primary concern of Norouzi’s works revolve around the idea of questioning the position and the representation that one holds as a minority within a socio- political system; a conversation stemmed from the cultural and social phenomena which is extended to one's everyday life.
