The MOP CAP 2011 judging panel is made up of a group of internationally esteemed experts in the fields of art and design.
The judging process begins with an online review of the works submitted by the 60 nominated artists: each judge selects 25 artists in order of personal preference and results of this are consolidated to establish the shortlist of 25 artists. The names on this shortlist are then announced at the Magical Nights Auction Gala in Abu Dhabi on November 6, 2010.
In March 2011 the panel travel to Dubai. Here, the works of the shortlisted artists are reviewed by the judges where 5 - 10 finalists are selected. From October 11 - 15, 2011 an exhibition of the finalists' work is held at the Royal College of Art (RCA), London. During this time the judging panel meet to deliberate the prize winner.
On October 15, Christie's holds an auction of the finalists' works at the RCA, London. The proceeds of the auction are devoted to sustaining the Prize itself.
After the auction has taken place the Prize Winner is announced by the Chair of the judging panel and awarded a solo exhibition at a leading London gallery the following October.
